so seeing how everyone came onto the team is kinda really great?

especially the pair-ups. I did not think that Toby would’ve been the one to bring CJ on, or that Josh was there before Sam… Or that Bartlet himself was the last person to become a part of the team, really.

(I’m actually asking, because I haven’t noticed it before (why wouldn’t I if he had), but it would be kinda odd if he started doing something like that now wouldn’t it? And if this is the first time, why is he doing it?)

okay so there’s a post going around comparing two bright young women and how they approach being studious with their respective love interests.

i know it’s supposed to be a joke but it twitches me because NO THOSE TWO WOULD GO ON WONDERFUL ADVENTURES TOGETHER YOU DON’T HAVE TO CONTRAST THEM IN A VERSUS SORT OF WAY. YOU SHOULD NOT BE SAYING ONE OF THEM IS USING “UNCULTURED BULLSHIT” BECAUSE HEY THERE’S A THING CALLED CONTEXT.

Because yanno, they’re doing completely different things. One has to teach her guy the ENTIRE FUCKING LANGUAGE. The other is with a somewhat educated guy who already had access to those books and might have read a few of them before because hey, he’s stuck in a damn castle for ten years with just furniture-servants, what else is he going to do when he’s not wallowing in pity?

HELL THE SECOND WOULD PROBABLY CONGRATULATE THE FIRST FOR TEACHING HER GUY HOW TO SPEAK IN THE RELATIVELY SHORT TIME THAT THEY HAD.

BECAUSE ENGLISH IS A PAIN IN THE ASS TO LEARN OR TEACH AND HE WAS READING AND SPEAKING SOMEWHAT SOPHISTICATEDLY BY THE END OF IT.

So our second lovely bookworm would be giving kudos to the other, and then they would both sit down and start dissecting literature and sharing headcanons and just generally fangirling.

you know, as much as there’s the issue of “guy being persistent even as a woman rebuffs him” with danny and cj (and that is a little problematic to be showing as one of the noted relationships in this show even if it is a setup that works for them and their banter and having to deal with their professional roles)

at the least he doesn’t continue with her in the moment. sure, when he’s being a reporter and she’s being the press secretary and she tells him to clear out, he tries to get more info. but when he approaches her about date stuff and she tells him to leave, he leaves right away and doesn’t try again until at least the next day.

and i appreciate that much at least- that even though he wants to keep trying, when she wants him to clear out, he clears the fuck out.

wait i am confused i thought all of daenerys’ khalasar besides that one guy who was with her while she met with the spicemerchant were killed while at xaro xhoan daxos’.

but then after she gets her dragons back she has a bunch of people following her orders??? did she like, scare his servants or whatever into helping her?

Like, I’ve been seeing this happen. She’s drawing away from her dad. I thought she was drawing form her mom too, but I think Tami actually honestly talking to her instead of just jumping into protectiveness curbed that a little.

But Coach Taylor is still impulsively controlling-protecting, and you can see Julie pushing against that and moving away from him. I feel like part of the problem is that Coach just is so unaware of the extent of the football culture within the high school- neither of Julie’s parents really asked her why she was so upset (in general to them, but to viewers we know it was at Matt/that situation) for a while, which we know was because of the rally girl thing. Tami is aware of it, but I don’t think she registers any of it as a problem until someone feels coerced into things? Or maybe she feels like Julie would be more immune to it, considering that her dad is the coach.

But idk. I’m seeing a lot of myself and my own distancing from my fam in Julie right now. Hopefully they all can come back together though, and Coach doesn’t do anything to make her afraid to actually do what she wants.
